Testimonials

"

I was able to find growth in a year that everyone else in the country was not able to. I used Click Math to ensure students progress was not lost when Covid happened. Students were able to continue with known routines that were able to guide them through strengthening Their math skills. I found that this even helped them improve their skills for things they had missed in previous years. Their comprehension was better. They built confidence and they were ready for future math success! I love Click Math!

"

The students are responding well to the ClickMath program. It is a facts-based program, that moves students through facts in a logical & progressive manner.
As I reflect, I wish I had participated in the training. Then I would have been able to look at the week-to-week data and keep a better eye on implementation in the classroom.

– Dr. Tamara Smeltzer (Principal at the International Academy of Flint)

"

The increasing trends indicate that as student’s progress through their usage of the software (in which a student who does not demonstrate mastery is led through a series of learning exercises before they are asked to try again), students are indeed gaining mastery of the material.

– Dr. Cameron McLeman

"

I liked the adding integers page where they (students) line up the positives and the negatives and the answer is the part that sticks out. It was helpful for the students. Some of the kids that have behavior problems are really liking the program and staying on task.

– Scott Smith (Beecher Dailey Elementary)

What is “Learning for Mastery?”
Mastery Learning, also known as Learning for Mastery (LFM) and Mastery Education, is an educational philosophy that shifts the definition of student aptitude.

In the traditional approach, content is taught for a set amount of time, and a student’s aptitude is based on how much they learned in that amount of time.

In Mastery Learning, a student’s aptitude is based on how long they need to master the content, and all students (given enough time and intervention) are assumed to be able to eventually master the content.

What is the purpose of mastery learning?
The purpose of Mastery Learning is to ensure that students truly master each course’s subject material before moving on to the next course. In a traditional model, students who do not master the content in the set amount of time are rarely given additional time or opportunity to re-learn what they missed. These students often fall further behind, which leads to loss of confidence that greatly affects the child’s self-esteem and future educational development.
How do students achieve mastery?
Students are considered to have achieved mastery on a workout, quiz, or test by scoring at least 90% within a preset amount of time. The ClickMath algorithm works to optimize training to help each student achieve mastery.
What data can I see as a teacher or an administrator?
The educator dashboard gives an at-a-glance view of an entire grade, class, or individual student progress view. Teachers can see where students are having challenges, their speed of response, and overall progress. Data is available instantly. As soon as a student completes a workout, quiz, or test the database is updated. Teachers can view individual and class progress reports, individual and class work logs, and progress checklists. Our dashboard is continually evolving and we will add more data points incrementally.
What level of technical and setup support is available?
We offer free setup and educator/administrator training complimentary with the program. We also offer on-site setup and training starting at $250 (depending on faculty size and school location).
How early can students begin using ClickMath?

Our core program is designed for students in grades 1–12, but we also offer a specialized kindergarten learning track, available to both schools and parents. For our youngest learners in K–2, students are provided extra time per activity, giving students the opportunity to master keyboard skills and build essential processing abilities.

Do students like ClickMath (formerly Number DNA)?

Yes! Students on average complete 4 to 8 workouts per 40-minute session. They are motivated by the desire to level up and receive dinosaur micro rewards. We are continuing to expand the product and have plans for new visuals, custom user avatars, friend invites, and leaderboards.

About ClickMath and Founder Dan Neaton

ClickMath’s founder, Dan Neaton, an experienced classroom math teacher in Michigan, observed his students’ continuous struggles with learning math the traditional way. Year in and year out, Dan saw wide divergence in retention ability, varying cognitive challenges, neurodivergence and the entire gamut of learning styles that did not fit well with the teaching methods in use.

In response to the standardized testing goals, larger classroom sizes and the student learning challenges, Dan set out to create a more personal and customized approach to learning math.

Dan’s goal was to develop a way to know each student’s learning style and his/her subsequent learning challenges, in order to create a program that would lead to success for every student and make sure that no student was left behind.

In pilot testing programs in Flint and Ann Arbor, Michigan, ClickMath (formerly Number DNA) has demonstrated tremendous results in bringing improved learning power to students and teachers. The schools in the pilot programs showed an average 82% mastery rate across all grades, using ClickMath. Dan and his co-founder, Edward Kulka, continue to improve ClickMath to achieve greater math mastery and instill a love of math in all students throughout the United States.
